Experiential Learning Corporation (ELC)
Experiential Learning, a unique learning pedagogy, is the USP of Universal Business School. Experiential Learning Corporation (ExCoLearn Pvt. Ltd.) is a legit registered student run organization and is the first of its kind in the word, where the students have the opportunity to unfold their leadership and management skills. UIC – UBS Innovation Club
Innovation is the cornerstone of sustained economic growth and prosperity. Keeping this thought as its focal point, UBS formed UIC – UBS Innovation Club is aimed at empowering the students to generate, brainstorm and implement innovative ideas to develop skills and an entrepreneurial mindset. The members are always required to think new, solve problems with novelty, collective wisdom and decision-making and get the best brains to brainstorm with project management approach. Amongst various activities conducted by UIC members, the key one is the disruptive innovation project which is focused at Cause Marketing to express their opinion on the topic (“Breaking up with fossil fuel”) given to them. Additional projects like #Trending, MBA Playbook, ThinkAThon, Speaker of the Year, Case Blazer (48 hours of non-stop case competition), Skillpits, Rush4Rush – India’s 1st Inter-College Business Adventure festival (all UBS clubs involved) play a pivotal role in keeping the club vibrant and alive all year round.
Tech-ops club is one of the most “learn with fun” entity on the campus. It has various sub-clubs under its umbrella like Talker’s club which focuses on increasing the confidence of its members through presentation and public speaking. The exciting VJ Hunt is aimed at finding the best talent amongst the students who can host events. The flagship ENVY (Intra-college cultural festival) is the cultural fest in collaboration with Arts and Music Club which adds colors to the lush green UBS campus. In pipeline, the tech-ops club has many activities like debate series, Shark Tank, JAM (Just a Minute), Junkyard Wars and Group Discussions & Debate.

50 Hours Case Study
You experience the real corporate world through a non-stop dynamic 50 hour case study where you work in teams under stress and react to market and industry changes
It is impossible to achieve your long-term and short-term goals without effectively managing your finances. Inefficient management of finances could lead to liquidity shortages. With the growing dynamics in the field of Finance, this club exposes its members to the diverse yet crucial areas of finance. We conduct various Finance events like Investomania which focuses on giving its participants a real-time experience in the Stock Market, screening of special films on the financial meltdown – like the Wall Street etc. followed by a discussion to understand the views of the participants. Another major inclusion is special talk sessions by Senior Corporate and Bank experts in the field of Finance upraising its participants on recent trending talks. Another feather in the cap of the Finance club is Asia’s first Thomson Reuters Trading Room which helps its member’s trade global markets in stocks, bonds, commodities and currencies in real time as a professional trader.
Matchbox (Marketing Club)
Unlike the old times, marketing no more deals only in the communication of the product to the consumers. Rather the activity is now found in every aspect of the business. UBS realizes the power of holistic approach to marketing which the present day companies require to create and maintain a desirable demand, reputation, and competition. Marketing club in UBS focuses on activities like case writing on Maganlal Chikki with a survey at Lonavala, workshop on “Chanakya – the first management guru”, marketing and case writing on “Pankaj Dental Clinic, Karjat” in collaboration with Digital Marketing club to prepare the students for the ever so dynamic field of marketing.
Synergy HR Club
The purpose of Synergy HR Club is to bring together students interested in the field of Human Resources Management, help them develop HR specific skills needed to succeed as an HR professional and encourage them to meet professionals who work in the field of Human Resources Management. The club activities are organized in a regular basis to promote the team spirit and implement the HR concepts practically. The members conducted mock interviews & aptitude test for the UBS students, quizzes, role plays & mind mapping games like Power of Imagination, Brainwhacker, Souls Voice, Dynamic Thinking, Spell-Bee-The Game of Words, aimed at enhancing the overall personality of the students. The club conducted 25+ events in the last year and all were immensely successful.
The Environment Club
Resonating with the 3E learning model of Universal Business School, The Environment club focuses on creating awareness and sensitivity among the students for their environment. The initiative is called the ‘Green Brigade’, wherein members of the club conduct photography competition of flora and fauna in UBS. The club members conduct energy saving drive to save water and electricity in the campus. They also ensure cleanliness in college by organising campus cleanliness drives. Another focus area for the club members is minimising food wastage by sensitizing students towards food wastage in the college cafeteria. Additional initiative is plant trees, do organic farming and feed birds as well as animals on the campus.
Rotaract originally began as a Rotary International youth program in 1968 in USA. ‘Strive, Rise and Grow’ is the tagline of the UBS Rotaract Club which brings together members from diverse backgrounds to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. The club conducts ‘Shipwreck’ which is the real-time application of knowledge-based problem-solving activity. In another activity named ‘Rotaract Club installation ceremony’, the leaders as well as the members identified the economic weaker students in 3 schools of nearby villages and distributed books and stationery material to them. They made the activity engaging and entertaining by painting their blackboards in 2 phases.
Digital Marketing Club
Digital Marketing is growing at a great speed, and with great speed comes great opportunity. To keep up with the growing needs of the marketing section of the business world, UBS has in its DNA the Digital Marketing Club which focuses on workshops related to crucial topics like Growth Hacking techniques in SEO, how to improve website architecture and XML Sitemap Black Hat strategies, how to place DISCUSS forum on the blog, interlink contents and many more.
The Alumni Club
The power of alumnus is unquestionable. An institute’s alumni are the reflection of its past, representation of its present and a link of its future. Alumni are the brand ambassadors of the institute they graduated from. UBS has a full-fledged student driven alumni association with the name UBSAA (Universal Business School Alumni Association) which in collaboration with the current students, conducts various activities like chapter-wise alumni meet, “Alumni of the Year” awards, meet and greet events. Our alumnus play a very important role in the selection and interview process of the prospective students for quality control and assurance. They support in corporate relations for placement opportunities and conduct guest lectures on campus for uplifting their juniors.
The Outdoor Sports Club
Sports not only act as an ice-breaker amongst students but also develop a sense of discipline which play an essential role in the life of the young professionals. The Outdoor Sports Club at UBS aims to promote the sportsperson spirit to create better and healthy leaders of tomorrow, to learn the art of team building and to accept success and failures in the same stride in collaboration with EduSports. The club conducts outdoor games like football, volleyball, basketball and cricket and culminates in the most coveted UBS Olympics Trophy amongst batches. Most importantly, the club encourages girl students to take an active part and have a mix of boys & girls teams to foster a true team spirit. To relieve the students of academic pressure and think out of the box, the club provides an opportunity to the students with flood-lit games fields so that they can play for long hours after their classes. They also conduct sports competitions to build a competitive spirit and to enable the participants to learn the management skills of organising successful events.
Indoor Sports Club
In the words of John Wooden, “Sports do not build character. They reveal it”. Indoor sports club is one of the most active clubs with the mission of conducting an indoor sports event in every quarter of the year. The club’s flagship event ‘Box Cricket League’ which hosts maximum participation can help students in mental relaxation from the hectic academic schedule. It also helps to learn the importance of teamwork and leadership. Another significant one is the Badminton league where according to the opponent, the participants have to think, change their strategies and be on their toes with swift movement. The noteworthy Quadrangular is four fold indoor sports event (Pool/Snooker, TT, Carrom & Chess) where students are invited to showcase their skills and abilities in their desired sports. ‘Pool Night Full Night’ is a US style pool game in which all the Pool lovers of the campus have the opportunity to play the game all night. The Snooker Cricket tournament is the most fun which involves playing Cricket on the Snooker Table.
The General Well Being Club
Since UBS is a long-sighted business school, it is extremely sensitive to environmental issues. The General Well-Being Club concentrates on the most important virtues of being human; humanity and compassion for well-being of self and surroundings. The club members conduct surprise food quality check with the help of a third party, monitor hygiene and wellness of campus canteen, makes time and food menu adjustments and improvements in facilities based on student demand etc. There is ample emphasis on food quality and general administration to create an impact of “A Home Away From Home”. The club allows students to take the leadership role and inculcate changes which are essential as per their needs and concerns.
The Arts & Culture Club
UBS truly believes that arts and culture play an important role in the development of any nation and nation’s development is in the hands of the youth. Culture (a set of shared attitudes, values, goals and practices) manifests itself in almost all sections of the society and India being a diverse country is symbolized by the plurality of its culture. The Arts & Culture Club at UBS performs and conducts various activities to keep the culture in UBS alive. ENVY conducted in collaboration with the Tech-Ops club is its flagship event which is full of dance, music and other activities of all genres and colors. Other popular activities include Splash,- UBS’s first painting competition, Chef’s Table and Garba nights.
The Admissions Club
The admissions department is the first point of contact between any institute and the students. At UBS, the students, under admissions club, are equally involved in the admission process as the staff members are. The admissions club is responsible for coordinating campus visits, conducting prospective student’s interviews & campus tours, supporting the admissions team for documentation and student accommodation. Another crucial area which the admission club takes care of is coordinating with the new students upon arrival in campus to make them feel at home.
The Placements Club
Placements is a crucial factor of business management education. At UBS, we believe in transparency and integrity. Therefore, students are an important part of UBS placement team and the entire placement process is driven by the placement club under the guidance of the corporate relations team. The important tasks include circulating the incoming company’s JD, collecting applications from students, coordinating the entire in-campus process, working closely with the corporate relations team for Self-Assessment Validation and Intervention module. Students of this club actively meet prospective companies and invite them for Placements.
